The IUEWT as way paver of the return of GM Rene Latosa and his Escrima Concepts

When four years ago GM Sifu Marcus Schüssler visited GM Rene Latosa in the USA after they havn't met for years, neither of them at that point of time had an idea what this meeting would mean for Escrima in Europa.

In the meantime, some seminars and years later, the importance becomes clear: many associations and students too return back to the roots, because they thought that the Escrima Concepts after GM Latosa would not be accessible to them anymore and agreed therefore to stay in the old structures, also with the consciousness, to not continue their learning with the old efficiency anymore. In the meantime many former students of GM Latosa attempted also to promote his concepts under their own name, nevertheless also their students come back again, because they now truly recognize the difference between somebody, that formed the concepts and someone that just simply imitates them.

The IUEWT as an initiator for the revived promotion of the Escrima Concepts is pleased, that many other follow the example and considers itself also here as pioneers and trendsetters. The IUEWT takes expressedly distance of every statement it would have introduced the Escrima Concepts again into Europe but sees itself as a way-pointing and supporting institution for GM Latosa and the Escrima Concepts!

For that special thanks are to be expressed at this place to Sifu Marcus Schüssler, who forms the necessary interface to GM Latosa through his personal endeavours, his language skills and his organizing ability what is also carried out whole heartedly, but also at Dai-Sifu Olbers, who provides the platform for the big seminars. Sifu Marcus Schüssler himself is since the first reunion a private student of GM Latosa and tries to continue his education under his tutelage for three times a year. Naturally a great luck for the IUEWT whose students come into the pleasure of a direct teaching.

To the end some great thanks have to be expressed at this place to GM Latosa himself that he still bears an irrepressible enthusiasm to provide the roots of his culture here in Europe. It is always a far and long journey the US to Europe.
