In January 2006 Jean-Paul Lec'hvien and Bernhard Texier founded the Association WT Lyon - AWTL. Both began their training many years ago on different locations: Jean-Paul in Villefranche and Bernhard in Lyon itself. Because the school in Lyon and Villefranche were subject to a change two years ago the two experimented in different interpretations of WingTsun/Wing Chun styles. Both come to the same conclusion that the UFEWT is the only institution for them with the admired quality of teaching. So they contacted president UFEWT André Schade of the UFEWT and went to Mulhouse regularly to continue their instructions. In January they made up their mind to open an official club. During the spring time 2006 Jean-Paul happend to be in Germany in the area of Velbert on business reasons. He took the occasion to visit the school of Sifu Marcus Schüssler in order to contact him for a restart of seminars in Lyon together. Both, Jean-Paul and Sifu Marcus knew each other from the the seminars that were conducted in Lyon regularly until two years ago by Sifu Marcus. Both agreed the first date which took place on july 1. Particularly for this event even Brian Portworsnick who wants to take on teaching activties in Paris shortly traveled all the distance from Paris to Lyon in order to participate the seminar.

The schedule foresaw the seminar in the morning time where Sifu Marcus Schüssler could convince himself on the reached standard of Jean-Paul's and Bernhard's work. In the afternoon they took Sifu Marcus on a 15 min drive outside of Lyon to a fitness gym where he conducted an introductary seminar for some interested gym members.

In the late evening Lyon was experienced by wild football fans who on the occasion the won world championship game converted the city center from night into day by their car parades.

From now on every year at least two seminars will take place in Lyon which fills all students and instructors with great pleasure.
